  2. Readme for Stuff and Hex

  5. This application REQUIRES the Stuffit Engine™ which is part of the
  6. Stuffit Deluxe™  Stuffit SpaceSaver™ and SITcomm™ packages.

  8. This application is just a quick (15 minute) hack that I did for my
  9. own use and then cleaned up a little for distribution.  The purpose
  10. of the application is to first compress and then binhex files for
  11. electronic distribution.  It is intended to be used as a drag and
  12. drop application.  You can use it to choose files, but not folders,
  13. from the 'File' menu.

  15. After I had written this it turned out that Drop*Stuff (also part of
  16. Stuffit Deluxe™ package) also does this (I always use Magic Menu
  17. rather than Drop*Stuff).  I decided to go ahead and distribute it
  18. because lots of people have the Stuffit Engine as part of Stuffit
  19. SpaceSaver™ and SITcomm™, but don't have Drop*Stuff.

  21. There are no settings but you can modify the behavior of the
  22. application by holding down keys when launching it.  Just like
  23. Stuffit Expander, if you hold down the Shift key you will be prompted
  24. for an alternative destination for the file.  If you hold down the
  25. Option key the intermediary Stuffit archive will be deleted, leaving
  26. just the binhex file.

  28. Most of this application is based on 'Drop Shell'.  I have enclosed
  29. the readme for that package.
